France equal Germany and Brazil’s historic feat against Morocco


France continues its presence in the final stages of the World Cup

Today, Thursday evening, the French national team secured its place in the semi-finals of the 2026 World Cup by defeating Morocco 2-0 in the quarter-finals at the Boston Stadium.

Kylian Mbappe opened the scoring for France in the 60th minute before Ousmane Dembele sealed victory with a second goal in the 66th minute to send the Roosters to the winner of the clash between Spain and Belgium.

With this qualification, France became the third team in the history of the World Cup to reach the semi-finals in three consecutive appearances.

Only two teams have preceded France in this achievement: Germany, who achieved it twice in the periods (1982-1990) and (2002-2014), and Brazil in the periods (1994-2002).

France joined this historic list by reaching the semi-finals in 2018, 2022 and 2026.

In the 32nd round of the current season, the “roosters” defeated Sweden (3-0), and in the 1/16 they narrowly defeated Paraguay (1-0).
