Blaine’s alleged murder victim Lily Jones was ‘beautiful, kind and caring’

The family of a 14-year-old girl who was found dead in a bush last month have described her as a “beautiful, kind and caring little girl” who was “completely herself”.

Lily Jones was reported missing from her home in Blaena, Gwent, on June 20 before being found in Dufryn Park two days later.

A 14-year-old boy was accused of her murder Court last week.

A brief inquest heard earlier this week that the teenager’s primary cause of death was revealed. Multiple stab wounds.

“As a family, the word ‘heartbroken’ doesn’t come close to how we feel,” she said, adding that her family wants to focus on “how beautiful she is.”

He said she had “exceptional taste in music” ranging from My Chemical Romance to Kate Bush and “sang every word in her voice with no apologies for anyone listening.”

“Lily is the most beautiful, kind and caring woman we have had the privilege to call our daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend,” he added.

“We could write a book about how wonderful and welcoming she is to all kinds of people, recommending her to anyone who needs it.

“Our disaster has left an unimaginable hole not only in our lives but in the entire society,” he said, thanking the people for their “endless support and donations.”
