Bonnie Tyler: ‘Heartbroken’ Catherine Zeta-Jones Leads Credits For Total Heartbreak Star Eclipse

Welsh First Minister Rhun ap Iorwerth called the singer “a true icon”, while Welsh writer Joe Stevens called Tyler “the voice of my teenage years”.

“What a wonderful Welsh woman!” said Welsh-born screenwriter and television producer Russell T Davies. He offered.

Tyler was due to perform at the Sunshine Festival in Worcester this summer, along with several European dates.

She is scheduled to perform at Cardiff’s Utilita Arena on December 17.

Pete Waterman, a Stoke Aitken Waterman music producer famous for featuring stars including Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan in the ’80s, likens Tyler’s unique vocals to Tina Turner.

“She had an amazing voice and in my opinion was the equal of Tina Turner,” he told the BBC.

“If you think about Tom Jones, he was Britain’s closest thing to a soul star, and so was Bonnie and she was as good as Tina Turner. You can imagine Tina singing heartbreak.”

He added that in her early career she was managed by Gordon Mills, “previously owned by Tom Jones and Inglebert Humperdinck”.

“Like Brian Epstein did with the Beatles, he created the Welsh sound and took Welsh artists out of the clubs, he was a great impersonator.”
