It wasn’t easy to find anyone outside of SpaceX clamoring for a rocket like Starship 10 years ago. Today, the aerospace industry I can’t wait for Starship to be delivered.
With a payload of more than 100 tons (220,000 pounds) to Low-Earth orbit, SpaceX’s new rocket is changing the mind of almost everyone in space. With the unrealized but potentially game-changing benefits of refueling, a Starship could carry similar payloads to space, the Moon, or Mars.
It’s important to note that Starship is still experimental, far from proving Elon Musk’s lofty claims about what it can do. However, NASA and the US military are considering new ways to use the Starship fly to the moon or cargo to distant war zones. Scientists are eager to use its enormous power to build telescopes. Competitors are taking notice. China, the most powerful enemy America has ever faced, looking for his own Starship. Now, some US satellite manufacturers are turning to the world’s most powerful rocket.
