Don’t stop believing because dreams do come true… Real Madrid star’s message to children
Real Madrid’s Moroccan star Ibrahim Diaz has confirmed his country will be aiming to make history when they take on France in the 2026 World Cup quarter-finals at the Gillette Stadium on Thursday night.
Morocco is dreaming of a second consecutive World Cup semi-final after achieving the historic feat in 2022 as the first Arab and African team to reach this stage.
The Moroccan team qualified for the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup by defeating Canada (3:0) in the 1/8 finals, and before that, it defeated Holland in the round of 32 on penalty kicks.
Ibrahim Diaz said at the press conference before the confrontation with France. “I think we showed our mentality in the last game and what we are capable of. This is our way of thinking and we want to continue like this. We have a very important meeting. Everyone wants to participate in these meetings.”

I always take that responsibility and I am fully prepared and I have a lot of confidence in tomorrow’s match. I know we will do well.”
He continued. “We also have experience. We’ve had some big matches, but I trust my teammates. We have everything we need to prove that we are capable of winning.”
Diaz spoke about his fellow Moroccan national team Achraf Hakimi, saying: “I have nothing but good things to say about Hakimi. He is our leader. It’s a pleasure to play with him and I’m very happy to join this team. It’s a great honor to have a player like him.”
“I am very happy to be able to help and be one of the key players. My teammates make it so easy. We are going to play against one of the favorites to win because we can compete and we are one of those favorites. I have a lot of confidence in the team that everything will be like this.”
“The most important thing is the team. I don’t care if another player scores or scores… I just want to win. If I can help, that’s great. But the most important thing is to win.”
He continued. “For all the kids who believe in their ability to be a football player… I was in the same situation. It’s a dream for me to be here and play in the World Cup. Don’t stop believing because dreams do come true. And maybe one day you’ll be here.”
He concluded. “It’s really positive that the whole world is paying a lot of attention to Morocco. Not only us, but the level of the youth categories is amazing. Those who make their way through these categories will one day make history. It’s great and we want to keep making history.”
