Another Israeli airstrike hit a refugee tent in the al-Mawasi neighborhood of Khan Younis, south of the fence, killing at least four people, including a 10-year-old child.
Later on Wednesday, Palestinian health officials said that a six-year-old child was killed by Israeli gunfire in the Zeitoun neighborhood of Gaza City. Another strike hit a car in the west of the city, killing one person, medics said, bringing the death toll on Wednesday to at least seven. An eighth death was recorded later, but details were not immediately available.
The Israeli military has not commented on the incident.
The latest killings come despite Israeli and Hamas concessions “prohibition of war” in the United States in October last year. Although major fighting has stopped, Israeli attacks on Palestinians in the region have continued.
According to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, Violation of Israeli law of the “ceasefire” has killed at least 1,084 people and injured 3,491 others since the agreement began. The latest casualties bring the death toll in Israel’s war in Gaza since October 2023 to around 73,110, with 173,599 wounded, the ministry said.
Israel has also expanded its control of the region to about 11 percent beyond the so-called “Yellow Line” surrounding the Gaza Strip that it has annexed.
Last week, a group of United Nations and NGO groups he warned that the continued expansion of areas under Israeli control endangers civilians and humanitarian services. Many Palestinian families have already been forced from their homes near the line.
Meanwhile, the humanitarian situation in the Strip remains difficult. Its latest reportThe UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) recorded nearly 9,300 cases of chicken pox in more than 130 hospitals.
