Zizu. We are proud of what we have achieved. I was part of a historic journey

Egypt national team player Ahmed Sayed Zizo has expressed his pride for the achievements of the “Pharaohs” at the 2026 World Cup, hoping that this will be a starting point for the future.

The Egyptian team bid farewell to the 2026 World Cup in the quarterfinalsAfter blowing a 2-0 lead in Tuesday’s 2-3 loss to Argentina at Atlanta Stadium.

About 24 hours after the end of the match, Zizu wrote a post on his personal Instagram page, in which he wrote: “What was done was not just a football achievement, but a moment that will remain etched in Egyptian history.”

“I am very proud of what we have achieved and even more proud to have been part of a journey that has brought smiles to the faces of millions of Egyptians. There is no feeling that compares to seeing an entire nation feel happy, proud and proud of their country.”

He added: “For a long time it was our dream that Egypt would write a new history in the World Cup, and today the dream has come true. This achievement does not belong to one generation or group of players.

He continued. “The joy of Egypt is all over the world today. There is no championship or title that equals the moment when you see your country’s flag raised and its name echoed with pride and respect by the greatest teams in the world.”

He concluded. “Praise be to God always and forever, and I ask God that this is only the beginning and that the flag of Egypt will always remain in the highest place. Long live Egypt!”
