In August 2020, a woman made a rape complaint to Devon and Cornwall Police about Corambail.
However, according to the force, she was not able to support the investigation at the time and the complaint did not go further.
Angorad, who was pregnant, said Corambail told her it was a “false, malicious accusation” and she did not understand how he could now “pull the wool over my eyes”.
“Looking back, I realized that it was gassing me, it was emotionally draining, making me feel terrible about things or controlling situations and I didn’t know it was happening at the time,” she says.
Angarad Korambail’s efforts to bury the truth worked and their son was born in November 2020 – a time that made her emotional and vulnerable. Then in April 2021, Corambail unexpectedly arrived home early from work.
“He said, ‘If I get banned… he looked at people’s data, but it was nothing bad,'” says Angarad.
But within hours, the police arrested him on suspicion of rape.
Angorad left their home that night and took the baby to stay with family, scared and worried.
“One night I went to my father (and) it was like I was his son again, I sat on his lap and bawled my eyes out,” she said.
