Roosters and Tango Dancers struggled to make it to the quarter finals
France and Argentina equaled Italy’s all-time World Cup quarter-final record after the Latin side edged past their Egyptian counterpart (3-2) and France progressed after beating Paraguay (1-0).
According to the French network “Stats Foot”, France and Argentina reached the quarter-finals of the World Cup for the 9th time in history, tying Italy for fourth place in the list of teams that have reached this stage the most.

The French team will play against Morocco in the 8th round, and the tango dancers will face Switzerland.
It is noteworthy that France and Argentina played in the final of the last World Cup (Qatar 2022), which the Latin team won on penalties, after the initial and extra time ended in a draw (3-3).
On the other hand, Italy missed out on the World Cup for the third time in a row as they lost on penalties to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the play-off.
