The French coach retracts his decision to end the conference to answer a reporter’s question
A verbal altercation broke out between France coach Didier Deschamps and a Moroccan journalist hours before the Roosters’ expected clash with the Atlas Lions at the 2026 World Cup.
The two teams will meet tomorrow, Thursday evening, in the anticipated match in the quarter-finals of the ongoing tournament in the United States of America, Canada and Mexico.
While Deschamps was about to finish the press conference held in Boston today, Wednesday, and leave the hall, the Moroccan journalist surprised him.
According to the video published by the Moroccan “Hespress” network, the journalist said: “You give the floor only to French journalists, and we, Moroccan journalists, were not given the opportunity to ask questions.”
He added: “This is a one-sided press conference.

In turn, Deschamps answered. “I’m sorry but I have a long way to go back too and I have a lunch appointment and there’s training.”
The Moroccan journalist did not despair because he told the French coach. “I know that sir, but I left too early and I also have work to do covering training.”
Deschamps responded again, saying, “How many of you are there (referring to the number of journalists in the press conference room)?”
However, the French coach decided to give the Moroccan journalist the opportunity to ask his question.
Deschamps. I hope the referee for the Morocco match will be like Egypt and Argentina
