Philadelphia 76ers Stun Boston Celtics To Complete Series Comeback

Boston trailed 99-98 on two Nimias Quetta free throws before Maxey scored eight unanswered points to give his team a 107-98 lead with 15 seconds left.

“We started out good and then in the second quarter we kind of slacked off,” Embiid said. “Same thing at the start of the fourth.

“But we stuck together, stuck it out.”

He added: “It means a lot. You can’t win alone, you need a team to be able to win and everyone is doing their job.”

Embiid returned for the final four games of the series after an emergency appendectomy sidelined him since April 6.

“What’s changed in this series is Joel Embiid is back, and they’re a completely different team,” Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla said.

With Boston star Jayson Tatum ruled out due to a left knee problem, Jaylen Brown led them with 33 points.

“We liked the look we got, liked the process we had, but hated the results,” Mazzulla said.
