Saudi Arabia’s goalkeeper shined at the World Cup
Al-Ula goalkeeper Mohammed Al Owais is close to returning to Al Hilal in the upcoming summer transfer window after a season away.
Muhammad Al-Owais left Al-Hilal in the last summer transfer window for Saudi Arabia’s First Division Yellow League club Al-Ula and made it to the Roshan League promotion play-off final before losing to Al-Diriya.
He said Saudi newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat Al Owais is 90% close to returning to Al Hilal next season on a two-season contract of his own accord, despite having other offers.
Among those offers was the Al-Shabaab club, which offered the international goalkeeper to move to their ranks, promising that he will be in the starting line-up in all matches next season.
Some news indicated that Diriya Club wants to sign Al Owais next season.especially after the exceptional levels he produced at the 2026 World Cup in America, Canada and Mexico.
Notably, the 34-year-old previously played for Al-Shabaab between 2014 and 2017 before moving to Al-Ahli, which he represented until 2022 when he moved to Al-Hilal and from there to Al-Ula in 2025.
