French front-runner Le Pen has said she will run in the 2027 presidential election | Story

Right-wing leader Marine Le Pen has said she will run for the French presidential election in 2027, in an interview with TF1 radio.

An appeals court in Paris ruled earlier on Tuesday that Le Pen was guilty of misusing public funds but reduced her ban from holding elected office to 45 months, of which 30 were suspended.

The decision meant that Le Pen would be able to participate in the presidential election but would have to campaign while wearing an electronic bracelet.
