In the 1/8 final match of the 2026 World Cup, the Egyptian national team made a stunning surprise by defeating its Argentinian counterpart with an unanswered goal.

The Pharaohs’ goal came in the 15th minute, after Marwan Attiyah played a perfect pass into the box and defender Yasser Ibrahim rose to power and headed it into the right corner of Argentina’s goal to seal Egypt’s lead with a clean sheet.

The Egyptian team hopes to maintain its lead over the world champions to continue its historic run in the tournament and reach the quarter-finals for the first time in history.
