Discord accidentally banned more than 8,000 people from posting grids and other “bad” images

In Thread on XDiscord writes that its security system is designed to display content by “matching it to known harmful content.” The system can generate “false information,” Discord says, and that’s when an employee can log in to see what’s been said. But instead of temporarily banning the account from uploading content under review, the glitch caused the system to ban users entirely.

“After our staff reviewed and removed the accounts, the same bug prevented the ban from being lifted, so it just stayed,” Discord says.
