Balochistan government spokesman Shahid Rind says 15 terrorists were killed in a “decriminalization operation”.

At least nine police officers have been killed in an attack on police officers during a dam project in the southwest Pakistansaid the police and local officials.

“At least nine policemen, including two constables, were killed in the boat
attack,” said local police chief Zahoor Ahmad on Tuesday.

The police also kidnapped eight policemen, but all were later found by police, said Shahid Rind, a spokesman for the Balochistan government.

Police, police and anti-terrorist personnel “worked well together” against the attackers, killing 15 assailants, Rind said.

No one claimed responsibility for the attack.

Rind said that Pakistani Talibanknown by the TTP acronym, was responsible, without providing evidence.

Pakistan has for years been battling militant groups targeting government forces, foreign investment and construction projects in the mineral-rich region bordering Afghanistan and Iran.

The TPP, a separate group from the Afghan Taliban, also holds sway in Balochistan and has fought for years to topple the government in Islamabad.
