Google will give web developers and website owners a better idea of how people are finding their TV profiles and YouTube content through search. With a new feature in Google Search Console called “platform properties,” Google says you’ll be able to “easily track the search terms that lead people to Instagram, TikTok, X and YouTube content on Search, and see exactly how your audience interacts with your posts.” according to the blog post.
These new features continue Google’s push to make Search the center of everything that creators and publishers do online. In June, Google he started laughing Major producers and publishers claim a dedicated profile in Search that can show links to other platforms and publish videos from TikTok and Instagram. With the changes announced today, developers will have more information about how people find their content while they’re on the go.
“Creators and publishers use more channels than their websites to reach audiences,” says Google. “As people gravitate towards different perspectives and features, we want to make it easier for website owners and developers – even those who don’t have their own website – to know how everything on their website ranks in Search.”
The new version of the platform is rolling out “slowly over the coming weeks.”
