The rest of the Paris trio.. Enrique commented on the clash between Spain and Portugal

Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique returned to confirm his close connection with the city of Gijon at the opening ceremony of the Green Beach, which will bear his name from Monday.

Enrique said in published statements Sports newspaper “It’s rare that I talk about my family because of the nature of my work, so I thank the City of Gijon for giving me this opportunity.”

He continued. “I left Gijon more than 30 years ago for work, but I never forgot to come back every year. Everyone knows how attached I am to my city. This gesture is exceptional.”

The former coach of the Spanish national team was also asked about the matadors’ next match at the World Championship, and he expressed optimism about the chances of “La Roja”, but avoided making predictions.

Enrique explained. “The match will be great and I hope that Spain will win the World Cup for the second time in its history.”

He emphasized: “I don’t like to make predictions, but if Spain wins against Portugal, I will have three players on early vacation.”

Enrique refers to the Portuguese trio of Vitinha, Nuno Mendes and Joao Neves.

Luis Enrique believes that the Spanish national team continues to develop and believes that it is capable of fighting for the title.

“The World Championship is a very difficult tournament. I see that Spain is on the right track and I will watch the match with my parents. The competition is getting tougher as the rounds go on, but I see the Spanish team on an upward curve.”
