An important element for roosters
France midfielder Aurelien Choumini is in doubt for next Thursday’s World Cup quarter-final against Morocco after he missed group training the day after the Roosters’ 1-0 win over Paraguay in the round of 16 on Sunday.
Just 18 players joined training at France’s camp at Bentley University in suburban Boston, with seven players missing group training, including Mike Mainan, Deyot Upamecano, William Saliba, Jules Cunde, Adrien Rabiot, Ousmane Dembele and Kylian Mbappe, who have been training.
Chuamini missed last Saturday’s match against Paraguay. His participation in the crucial clash against Morocco is still uncertain due to a thigh injury, which is the main worry for coach Didier Deschamps ahead of the crucial game.
On the other hand, the French national team received the return of Milan “Inter” striker Marcus Thuram, who was suffering from a calf injury, although he still could not fully participate in group training with his teammates.
Thuram began training with short walks around the pitch, accompanied by Lucas Digne, Manu Kone and Bradley Barcola, before doing special exercises with the national team’s fitness coach Cyril Moen, a sign of a gradual improvement in his health.
