Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov says Trump made the announcement during a nearly 90-minute phone call with the Russian president.

US President Donald Trump has offered help to Russian President Vladimir Putin to find a solution to the conflict in Ukraine, Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov said.

Ushakov said Trump made the offer during a nearly 90-minute phone call Saturday to discuss the war in Ukraine ahead of a NATO summit in Ankara.

“The American president has confirmed once again that he is ready to work to quickly end the conflict and find solutions to this problem,” Ushakov said in a statement released on Sunday.

Ushakov, who described the talks as “commercial and constructive”, said that Russia wanted to “resolve political tensions, for the sake of Russia’s main strategy”.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he also spoke with Trump on Saturday.

The Ukrainian president said he and Trump discussed the 1,200-km (745-mile) front line.

“There is real hope of ending the war and American determination will have an important meaning,” he wrote in the Telegraph. He said they agreed to continue the discussion on NATO meeting next week.

The leaders of 32 countries, including Trump, are expected in Ankara from Tuesday for the meeting on July 7 and 8.

On the front lines, both sides have made some progress in recent months, mainly due to the use of drones, which disable heavy vehicles and destroy them.

Ushakov accused Kyiv and its European allies of “relying on exacerbating or exacerbating conflicts, as well as terrorism against civilians”.

He also refers to Ukraine’s long-standing attacks on Russian targets, particularly related to the oil industry, which have led to oil shortages in several Russian regions.

Ushakov said Putin was “showing what is happening on the battlefield where the Russian army is advancing boldly, liberating one area”.

Russian officials told Putin on Friday that Moscow’s forces had captured the key town of Kostiantynivka in eastern Ukraine’s Donetsk region. On Saturday, Mr. Zelenskyy and the Ukrainian General Staff denied his claims, saying that Kyiv’s military is still in control of the city.

Zelenskyy urged Putin last month to hold a joint meeting, but the Kremlin leader refused.

Ushakov quoted Trump as saying that US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner would continue to try to repay the debt and were ready to visit Moscow again. U.S. efforts have stalled as Washington focuses on war with Iran, Ushakov said.

Putin expressed his hope that the US negotiations in the Iran conflict “will allow long-term acceptable solutions to be found on the major issues of resolution”, according to Ushakov.
