Iran’s Chinese ambassador vows ‘special’ support for Hormuz to ‘friendly’ countries | US-Israel War on Iran News

Despite opposition from the US, the ambassador insists on imposing new tariffs on ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran’s ambassador to China says ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz will be fined new salary but he added that China and other “friendly” countries would be given “special considerations”.

An first contract The agreement signed by Iran and the United States last month to end hostilities said commercial ships would be able to pass through the waterway free of charge for 60 days, but it was not clear what terms would be in place after that time.

While negotiations on the settlement continue, the US has said that Iran will not be allowed to impose fines or fines on vessels plying the river under any final agreement.

Speaking at the World Peace Forum in Beijing on Saturday, Ambassador Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli said Iran was working “in cooperation and cooperation” with Oman on “new arrangements” for the crisis.

“As a country whose waters are part of Hormuz, we will charge aid fees,” Fazli said in a translated statement while insisting that such fees would not be “payable”.

“The new arrangements will be related to the security of passage through the Straits of Hormuz, monitoring the movement of ships … and verifying and dealing with the environmental consequences of the increased number of ships,” he said, according to AFP.

Iran’s NourNews reported that “special considerations” will be applied to China and other friendly countries in determining the amount and type of fines for ships passing through the waterway.

In peacetime, a fifth of the world’s oil and natural gas was shipped through the canal, which was blocked by Iran in the war launched by the US and Israel in late February, sending energy prices soaring.

In April, the US imposed a naval blockade on Iranian ports in southern Iran in an attempt to stop the export of oil to Iran.

Fazli stressed that the crisis has become a “security” problem since the four-month war between the US and Iran.

Fazli added that new arrangements regarding the Strait of Hormuz will be made in cooperation with Oman.

Iran and Oman, which occupy both sides of the strait, have established a joint committee to determine how this waterway will be managed.
