Denzel Dumfries: Real Madrid sign Dutch full-back from Inter Milan on four-year deal

Real Madrid have signed Netherlands full-back Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan on a four-year deal.

Although the transfer fee has not been confirmed, the Spanish side are said to have activated the 30-year-old’s release clause, which was 20m euros (£17.1m).

The right-back is a fourth summer signing from Real Mark Cucurella, Bernardo Silva And Ibrahim Konat, And England international Trent Alexander-Arnold is set to provide competition.

Dumfries helped Inter to two Serie A titles and three Coppa Italias after joining the Italian club from PSV in 2021.

He made 207 appearances for the Nerazzurri, scoring 27 goals and providing 28 assists, and helped the Netherlands reach the last 32 at this summer’s World Cup.

Real failed to win a trophy last season and president Florentino Perez pledged to bolster the club’s defensive options during his successful re-election campaign, also bringing in Jose Mourinho for a second spell as manager.
