The podcast has already held live broadcasts, one at the Edinburgh Festival, and another where students spoke with children’s and adult author Ross McKenzie about the work, in front of P7 students from nearby primary schools.

Podcast crew members also have the opportunity to hear from professional writers, editors and photographers, working for the NPA (National Progression Award) in Journalism.

Kelly added: “I’m motivated by it. It’s really fun for me to give these experiences to kids.”

Reading Cafe is available on various streaming platforms.
