Funeral of Iran’s ex-supreme leader ‘high political moment’

Many Iranians loyal to the Islamic Republic attended the first funeral of the country’s former prime minister in Tehran.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in a joint US-Israeli airstrike at the start of the war.

Iranian state media said on Thursday that six days of ceremonies would be held in various locations in Iran and neighboring Iraq before he was buried in his hometown of Mashhad.
