Argentina narrowly defeated Cape Verde
Sports statistics firm Opta has revealed its predictions for the 2026 World Cup round of 16 clash between Egypt and Argentina, suggesting Tango will win 79.7%, compared to 20.3% for Pharaohs.
Egypt’s semi-final expectations are 7.4% and the odds of reaching the final drop to 2.1%, and the percentage of winning the title does not exceed 0.5%, placing Egypt second to last in the world, ahead of only Canada, who recorded 0%.
The Pharaohs are making their first ever round of 16 appearance after losing to Australia on penalty kicks against the defending champions, who also suffered a 3-2 extra-time defeat against Cape Verde.
