Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti has criticized voices that question his coaching abilities during the 2026 World Cup.
According to the data published by the British “Mirror” newspaper.Ancelotti’s response came after he was criticized following Brazil’s unconvincing 2-1 win over Japan to reach the World Cup round of 16.
A number of followers on social media deemed the performance by Ancelotti’s Brazil team characterized by “stagnation” and “danger”, warning that this method could lead to Samba’s exit from the tournament.
Ancelotti is known for his extreme calmness, as he was nicknamed “The Godfather” during training in Spain. He rarely loses his temper and his teams rarely lose.
But the Italian coach seemed frustrated when asked about his ability to get the best out of a Brazil squad that includes plenty of talent but sometimes goes through periods of wobble.
“In Italy they say that all men want to become coaches, and all women are architects,” said Ancelotti, whose team is preparing for a decisive match against Norway in the Round of 16 in New York.
He added: “I don’t know if I understand football or not, but no one has the right to judge me in this matter. The only certainty is that I played more than 1400 matches.
He continued. “Understanding football may not be enough, but it is certainly a great experience. There is only one person who has played more matches than me and that is Alex Ferguson who has played more than 2,000 matches.”
“I take advice from everyone, but the only person who can really be fit to give me advice is Alex Ferguson.”
He concluded. “I’m 100 percent sure I’m not a genius, but at the same time I’m 100 percent sure I’m not an idiot.”
