A former Egyptian player mocked Al-Ahly and Egypt full-back Mohamed Hani after the mistake he made during the 2026 World Cup against Australia.
For the first time in its history, the Egyptian national team qualified for the final round of the World CupYesterday, Friday, after defeating Australia on penalties, in the 32nd round, after the end of the initial and extra time, a positive draw with a score of 1-1.
Australia’s only goal came from an own goal by Mohamed Hani, the second goal he has scored in the current World Cup campaign, after he did so in a 1-1 draw with Belgium in the first round of the group stage.
It caused the indignation of the former Egyptian football star Adel Abdel Rahman during his speech on the “Dorena Ghir” program of the “Saudi Arabia” TV channel after the match.
Abdel Rahman sarcastically said: “Mohamed Hani needs someone to watch him (from the Egyptian national team) because after scoring two goals so far, he can become the top scorer of the World Cup.
It is noteworthy that Mohamed Hani became the second player in the history of the World Cup to score two own goals in one match, after Ivan Vostov of Bulgaria did the same in the match between Hungary and Portugal in 1966.
