An unfortunate blow for Deschamps…the French star is out against Paraguay

Roosters are candidates for transition

France were dealt a painful blow just hours before their crucial 2026 World Cup final against Paraguay when it was confirmed that Aurelien Chouamine will be out with a hamstring injury and will be replaced in midfield by Manu Kone.

The French RMC network, citing sources close to the French national team, reports that Chouamine was injured on the eve of the match, as the vice-captain felt a pain in his thigh during training yesterday, Friday, and therefore he will miss the round of 16 match against Paraguay in Philadelphia today, Saturday.

The Real Madrid player is currently out for around 4 days and if all goes well, he is expected to return for the quarter-final match on July 9 if the team qualifies.

The coaching staff, led by Didier Deschamps, will keep a close eye on Choumini, while Manu Kone is likely to replace him in midfield in a forced change that could affect the balance of the France squad.

It is expected that after Chuamini’s departure, the composition of the French team will be as follows.

Gatekeeping: Mainan

Protection. Kunde, Upamekano, Saliba, Dine.

Average:Kone, Rabiot, Olissey

Attack. Dembele, Barkola, Kylian Mbappe.
