Deschamps is afraid of one thing before the confrontation with Uruguay

What is it?

France coach Didier Deschamps has warned of a climatic challenge ahead of his side against Paraguay in the World Cup final on Saturday, with temperatures expected to reach 38C amid high humidity.

Deschamps said in a press release that the peak of the heat would be an hour or two before kick-off in Philadelphia, recalling his previous experience with his assistant Guy Stephan in the Club World Cup final and semi-final, saying:

The French coach explained that the high temperature will affect the players’ game, explaining: “We waste a lot of energy, we sweat more, we lose more water and we can lose our concentration on the pitch.”

But he confidently added. “Both teams will face the same circumstances and we are fully prepared for the match. We feel no pressure. We have great potential.”

Deschamps recalled the last official meeting between the two teams in the last 16 of the 1998 World Cup, in which France won the title, saying:

He concluded by emphasizing that France is the most likely candidate, but cautioned against underestimating the opponent, saying: “I don’t believe that those expectations will help us win. We need to provide a perfect performance from start to finish.”
