“Things went quickly.” Klopp revealed the details of the German team’s negotiations

Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that he is in formal talks with the German Football Association to take charge of the national team, replacing the recently resigned Julian Nagelsmann.

59-year-old Klopp said in a statement released by the “Foot Mercato” website on Friday evening. “Everything happened very quickly… Julian resigned and the German federation is looking for his replacement and they are negotiating with me.”

The German coach added: “There must be deep discussions, because the problems we are facing now are certainly not only because of Julian Nagelsmann.”

He praised Julian. “Nagelsman is an exceptional coach and he will prove that time and time again during his coaching career.”

Klopp stated that he needs to consult with his coach Oliver Mintzlaff before making a final decision, saying: “I know that German football is very important to him, so he is very open to those negotiations.”

He continued. “We will have to wait and see how these discussions will develop, showing that the negotiations are still at an early stage and the issue is not yet resolved.

Notably, Klopp is regarded as one of the most popular German managers of the modern era, following his great success with Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool, making him the ideal choice to lead the ‘machines’ in the next round.
