Parents Criticize ‘Inappropriate’ Caity Baser Youth Betz Performance

Around 40,000 free tickets were distributed to youth and their families this year at the two-day Youth Bitz Festival.

It was first launched in 2009 and currently receives £179,000 in annual funding from Dumfries and Galloway Council.

Other headliners at this year’s event were rapper Example and a DJ set from two members of boy band The Vamps.

A spokesman for the council said feedback over the weekend had been overwhelming and described the event as a success.

He added: “Dumfries and Galloway Council is aware of some concerns raised regarding the language used during one of the Youth Beatz performances.

“We take any concerns raised by attendees seriously.

“Youth Beatz features established mainstream artists live, and while every effort is made to ensure that performances are appropriate for the event, live performances are not entirely under the control of the Council.
