Wimbledon 2026 results: Katie Boulter and Heather Watson among British players outside doubles

Katie Boulter and Heather Watson were among the British players to exit the doubles competition in the first round at Wimbledon.

Arthur Ferry became the only home player to reach the third round of the singles draw at the All England Club on Thursday, with all six doubles pairings involving Britons defeated.

Boulter and Watson survived a 22-point second set tie-break to four match points but eventually lost 6-4 6-7 (12-10) 6-3 against Poland’s Katarzyna Pieter and Czech Anna Siskova.

Olivia Nicholls and Slovakian teammate Tereza Mihalikova, seeded 12th, beat Czech pair Miriam Skoch and Jessica Malekova 6-2 7-6 (7-3).

Jodie Burrage and Mika Stojsavljevic also fell in straight sets, losing 6-3 7-5 to French 10th seed Kristina Mladenovic and Hanyu Guo of China.

Teenagers Mimi Xu and Alicia Dudeny lost 6-3 6-4 to former French Open champions Hsieh Su-wei of Taiwan and Wang Jinyu of China.

Harriet Dart and Maia Lumsden went out 6-3 6-4 to Indonesians Aldila Sutjiadi and Janice Tejen, while Madeleine Brooks and Amelia Razecki were beaten 6-4 6-2 by German seventh seeds Laura Sigmund and Russian Vera Jovonareva.

Defending champions Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool, top seeds Henry Patten and Finnish teammate Harry Heliovara, fifth seeds Neil Skupski and American Christian Harrison and Marcus Willis and David Stevenson each reached the second round of the men’s doubles competition and return to action on Friday.
