Pakistan has warned India over the Indus Water Treaty.

The Indus Water Treaty defines how the resources of the river should be shared between India and Pakistan.

Founded in 1960, it has survived the conflicts between its neighbors for years.

But recently, the deal was put to the test after New Delhi suspended its participation.

This came after an attack which India claimed was carried out by forces allied with Pakistan, which it denied.

This week, Islamabad said that India cannot stop the deal on its own.

It says its section of the Indus River is a red line and has threatened its consequences.

So, how could they avoid further escalation?
