The Tornado clearly suffered at the World Cup as they failed to score or assist in all of their group stage matches, mainly against Uruguay, Spain and Cape Verde.

Al-Dossari was not able to climb the throne of the best scorers of the World Cup of all time of the Saudi national team in an individual order, as he was tied with Sami Al-Jaber with 3 goals each.

On the other hand, Salem Al-Dossari became the second Saudi player to appear in the World Cup in history, equal with Sami Al-Jaber, Abdullah Suleiman and Hussain Abdul-Ghani, with 9 appearances, one behind Muhammad Al-Deaiah.
