British GP: F1 drivers drive Lego minicars ahead of Silverstone race in spectacular track parade | F1 News

F1 drivers will drive 22 Lego minicars in a spectacular – and possibly chaotic – track parade at Silverstone ahead of Sunday’s British Grand Prix.

The drivable minicars are made from 28,000 original LEGO bricks and will each be decked out in the respective driver’s 2026 team colours.

It follows the success of last year’s first Lego Driver Parade in Miami when team-mates shared big-build cars for entertainment effect before that race.

The minicars for Silverstone took more than 6,400 combined hours to develop and build and allow additional components to be driven and with standard go-kart wheels, they are capable of reaching speeds of up to 15mph.

Sky Sports F1 From 12.55pm the showpiece will feature a parade of drivers as part of the extended build-up to the British Grand Prix. The race – also live on Sky One – starts at 3pm.

Formula 1 Chief Commercial Officer Emily Prazer said: “Last year’s F1 Driver’s Parade in Miami was one of the most memorable and talked about moments of the season with Lego Big Build Cars, capturing the imagination of fans around the world and showing a different side of the sport.

“This year, we are creating an incredible spectacle in that moment for fans attending the British Grand Prix and for those watching worldwide. There is something truly special about bringing together the worlds of Formula 1 and LEGO play, combining innovation, creativity and entertainment in a way that can inspire and excite all fans.”
