But Roos certainly offers a lot in center field so he should be a non-starter at right back. If he ends up there again, it’s an admission by Tuchel that he’s let his team down horribly.

When asked if Rice should play right-back, former England defender Micah Richards said: “No, I don’t. I feel like he has a lot to offer in that midfield position. If you’re going into the Mexico game at that height, you’re going to need energy in midfield.

“I’ll go with Ezri Konsa at right-back, and John Stones with Mark Guhi. That’s a better balance for the team.”
