Who will play in the final?

Australia secured their place at Lord’s with an eight-wicket victory over the West Indies on Tuesday, led by superb performances from Beth Mooney (61 off 36 balls) and Ash Gardner (2-13 off 35) as Australia won six out of six in the tournament.

The Matildas are undoubtedly the team to beat, having beaten previous winners South Africa and pre-tournament favorites India en route to their seventh World Twenty20 final in nine tournaments.

Meanwhile, South Africa have beaten England in their last two semi-final meetings – the 20-over edition in 2023 and the 50-over clash last year.

England, despite winning five out of five in the tournament, recently beat reigning champions New Zealand in their last group stage match – and their captain Nat Syver-Brant sees his side’s potential:

“Now it seems like everyone has settled into the way we’re doing things and has really grown in confidence in their abilities.

“I think it’s different people picking their shining moments on the pitch and showing people what they can do.

“It’s a different time than how we’ve felt in previous World Cups or from the last two years. As a team you go through different ups and downs as you go through the tournament.

Who is performing at the closing ceremony?

Performances by Rita Ora and Clean Bandit bookended the final as part of the World Cup closing ceremony.

Rita Ora is an internationally renowned singer known for her hit singles RIP And How do we (party), When Clean Bandit topped the UK charts with their song rather be In collaboration with Jess Glynn.

They will kick off proceedings with a performance – starting at 2:30pm – before the match, while Clean Bandit will bring down the curtain on the tournament with a post-match performance.

Supporters are advised to arrive at the ground by 2:00pm to ensure they are settled in time for the performance.
