Israeli airstrikes near a Gaza hospital and gas station killed at least three people, Wafa said.

At least three Palestinians have been killed in Israeli airstrikes in northern Gaza.

The strike took place on Wednesday near the al-Hilu station, which houses a private hospital and gas station in Gaza City, the Palestinian Wafa newspaper reported, citing local sources.

Earlier, the Israeli army said on Telegram that it had killed four Hamas soldiers in different groups in northern Gaza.

The army identified them as Wael Mahmoud Ali Labad, Muaz Mohammad Hassan Ahmad, Sameh Abu Kamil and Akram Ashraf Hamad Labad. He did not provide any evidence to support his claim that they were Hamas fighters.

The latest killings come despite Israel and Hamas agreeing to a “ceasefire” in October. Although major fighting had stopped, Israeli attacks on Palestine continued.

Since the agreement came into force, at least 1,053 Palestinians have been killed and 3,406 injured, according to the Gaza State Media Office, which says it has also documented 3,465 violations of the agreement by Israel.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health says 73,066 Palestinians have been killed and 173,514 injured since Israel launched its genocidal war on Palestinians in Gaza in October 2023.

During the “ceasefire”, the Israeli army continued to expand the controlled area inside Gaza while issuing the evacuation order.

It has barred Palestinians from entering the so-called “Yellow Line”, placing about 53 percent of the population outside the settlement’s borders. The enclave had grown to 64 percent of Gaza by March, as the army evacuated residents and took control of the remaining buildings in the enclave.

On May 28, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he had told the army to extend its control over 70% of the Gaza Strip.

Under the “ceasefire” agreement, the parties were to move to the second phase after Hamas freed the remaining prisoners covered by the first phase agreement in exchange for Palestinians held in Israeli prisons. This phase was designed to include disarming the group and the gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza.

However, the talks have been stalled for months, with the deployment of weapons to Hamas and the scale of Israeli withdrawals continuing to be major obstacles.
