A Chichester man has spent a £40k house deposit on his father’s World Cup dream.

An England fan took his dad and spent £40,000 on his house to take the Three Lions to “win the World Cup”.

Jack Goodwin, from Chichester, West Sussex, England, said he has booked hotels, flights and tickets until the final game on July 19 in New Jersey, USA.

He spent £4,000 on a ticket to the final, describing the trip as a “once in a lifetime opportunity”.

The 34-year-old added: “We will see that we bring home the World Cup trophy.”

“We beat them 4-0,” Goodwin said ahead of England’s first play-off against the Democratic Republic of Congo.

He described the prospect of playing Mexico at Azteca on Sunday as “the dream game of all games” and the “crème de la crème”.
