Three killed at World Cup party in Mexico City

A 19-year-old woman was among three people who died after choking at a World Cup party in Mexico City on Tuesday.

A 48-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man were killed in a stampede in Mexico City following the country’s 2-0 win over Ecuador, the capital’s health authority reported on Wednesday.

Clara Brugada Molina, the head of the city administration, said to the families of the victims, “They express their deepest condolences and promise to support them in the coming days.”

“After performing first aid and CPR techniques on the patients, they were shifted to the hospital for specialized treatment,” said a city health official.

They added that all three died due to suffocation and were identified by their families.
