It’s official…Liverpool have completed a French deal

Reinforcement for the back line

Liverpool FC have announced a long-term deal with young French defender Jeremy Jacque from Rennes after completing the transfer process.

Jacque arrives at Anfield after coming through the ranks at Rennes’ academy, before making 33 first-team appearances, including 21 in the 2025-26 season, which was cut short for him by a shoulder injury he picked up last February.

The 20-year-old defender also gained further experience during his loan spell at Clermont, where he made 24 appearances in addition to representing the France U-21 team.

Jacque expressed his great joy about moving to Liverpool, saying:For the club’s official website“I feel great, my first impressions are great and I’m very happy to be here.”

He added: “When I saw the possibilities and opportunities, I felt this was the right place for me. I feel comfortable here and I’m very excited to start this journey.”

“Joining Liverpool is a big dream for me. It’s a big club and playing there has always been a dream I’m striving to achieve.”

“Liverpool” noted that the number that Jacques will wear in the main team will be announced later.
