Chris Brown owes housekeeper $13 million after dog attack

Brown said he was about to take a shower when he heard the dog barking and went downstairs to find Avila lying motionless and covered in “a lot of blood.”

“I was shocked by the amount of blood,” he said, adding that he was “shocked” following the manager’s advice to leave the premises before emergency services arrived.

Brown admitted some guilt before the trial, but disputed the extent of Avila’s damages and argued that she was partially at fault for the incident.

The singer said he warned the sisters that the dogs were “not perfect” and told them to go outside under guard.

The two housekeepers denied having a conversation over coffee, and said the language barrier made such a conversation unlikely.

“I’ve had a lot of stalker-type situations,” Brown told jurors, saying the dog was bought and cared for by security staff to help keep the house from breaking into.

Speaking through an interpreter in Spanish, Avila told the court that she has extensive scarring on her face and left arm, and that she has limited mobility after surgeons removed skin from her abdomen to repair the arm.

Rolling Stone reported that she showed the jury “scars running down her forehead below her left eye” as well as “raised, bumpy skin” on her arms.

According to testimony, she was unable to return to work as a housekeeper due to lack of arm strength and post-traumatic stress disorder that prevented her from being around dogs.

A further $885,000 (£668,000) was awarded to Avila’s sister Patricia, who was working at the time of the attack.

Maria Avila’s husband, Oscar Olivo, was separately awarded $50,000 (£38,000), Patricia’s lawyer, Michael C. Murphy, told Billboard.

“After more than five years in the case of Chris Brown, we are thrilled to finally get justice for our client, Patricia.

“We are so happy for her and her family after everything they went through that horrible day.”

The representatives of Maria Avila and Oscar Olivo have not commented yet.

Brown is currently on tour in America with R&B singer Usher.

Brown in 2010 He is set to face charges in the UK in 2023 over a bottle-wielding attack on a music producer in a nightclub.

He appeared in an English court in January with co-accused Omololu Akinlolu. The couple were granted bail.
