As the Fordingbridge review begins, a person who has been raped by a teenager talks about ‘lasting pain’


One of two girls who were raped by two teenage boys said she “didn’t think it was going to happen” before an appeals court handed down a sentence.

The perpetrators, then 14, now 15, raped a second girl in January 2025, encouraged by a third boy.

On what she thought was her first date, Jazmin plunged three times through a passage under the River Avon.

She started a “relationship” with one of the boys on Snapchat and went to meet him, but then two other boys arrived – the second accused was 14 at the time, and a third boy who was not accused and did not participate in the trial.

Prosecutors said the men shared a video of the assault on social media and sent her abusive messages.

The second girl was 14 when she met the boys at Fordingbridge Recreation Ground and repeatedly assaulted them in a nearby field.

Video footage shown in court showed her lying motionless on the ground “with her face buried in her hands” while another child was heard shouting words of encouragement.
