Britain has ordered Moses Itauma to negotiate with Cuba’s Frank Sanchez over a fight for the vacant IBF heavyweight title.
Last week Oleksandr Usyk relinquished his IBF, WBA ‘Super’ and WBC belts.
The IBF said that, “in accordance with the IBF Championship rules”, they want Sanchez, who is ranked number one in their heavyweight rankings, to fight the number three contender Itauma.
It said they have until July 29 to reach an agreement.
Itauma, 21, is Croatia’s Filip Horgovic to fight August 29 at London’s O2 Arena in what he called his “difficult fight”.
He could pull out of the Horgavich fight or agree to fight Sanchez after that fight.
BBC Sport has contacted Itauma’s promoter Queensberry for comment.

Although the IBF wants to arrange a fight for the vacant title, the WBC promoted interim champion Agit Kabael to champion after Usyk relinquished his belt.
