Video: No surprises today… Mbappe shines as France look to continue their World Cup journey

The Roosters have booked a date with Paraguay in the last eight

In the 32nd round of the World Cup, Kylian Mbappe, the star of the French team, won an easy victory over the Swedish team with three unanswered goals in the match held at the “MetLife” stadium, led by the “Roosters”.

The French national team reserved its place in the 1/8 finals, setting a date with Paraguay next Sunday morning.

The Roosters avoided surprising Germany, who were knocked out of the tournament in the round of 32 at the hands of Paraguay the previous day on Monday.

France became the second European team in the 1/8 finals after Norway, which defeated Ivory Coast yesterday, Tuesday.

Mbappe breaks the post streak

The match started quickly for both sides as the Swedish team surprised their French counterpart with a counter-attack that greatly leveled the first third hour.

In the 20th minute, Kylian Mbappé received the ball perfectly, then he was alone in the goal and scored easily with a left shot from the goalkeeper, but the referee canceled the goal due to the offside situation.

The French threat continued and in the 31st minute, Barcola played in a cross which Mbappe converted with a powerful shot that hit the right post of the Swedes’ goal.

Four minutes later, Michael Olizey hit a perfect scissor ball, this time hitting the left post, as the French pressure continued in the first half.

With both teams set to end the first half and return to the dressing rooms in a goalless draw, Mbappe opened the scoring in the final minute with a perfect strike into the far corner after receiving Ousmane Dembele’s cross.

Mbappe’s brilliance continues

As the second half began, the French onslaught did not stop and Barcola scored the second goal just 7 minutes into the half with a shot from inside the penalty area, while the yellow defense was caught unawares.

Mbappe’s brilliance continued with his second goal and the Roosters’ third in the 74th minute when he received Olissi’s cross and slotted it into the net as the keeper broke away.

6 minutes before the end of the main time of the match, Didier Deschamps, the coach of the French national team, decided to replace Mbappe and include Ryan Cherky.

In the penultimate minute of the second half, the Swedish striker Victor Gukeris almost hit the ball defending the face, but the French goalkeeper kept it firmly.
