Haaland scored his fifth World Cup goal to set up Brazil’s knockout game in New York on Sunday.

Erling Haaland has dashed Ivory Coast’s World Cup hopes, scoring in the 86th minute to send Norway into the last 16 with a 2-1 win at the Dallas Stadium.
Haaland’s fifth goal of the game sealed Norway’s progress after Amad Diallo had blocked Antonio Nusa’s opener in the 39th minute on Tuesday.
It is starting a verbal clash with Brazil in New York on Sunday.
The African side messed up the opener, with Nicolas Pepe threatening down the right, while Ghislain Konan came close to giving his side the lead, racing into the area to pull home the cross.
Yan Diomande picked out Pepe with a through ball from the right, only for the Villarreal man to misfire, allowing the Norwegian defense to break free.
Haaland was almost there, but as the end of the half approached, Norway dominated.
The Manchester City striker missed a low goal from Alexander Sorloth’s cross from the right, but the move sparked Stale Solbakken’s side into life as they upped the tempo and dominated possession.
Their big build-up paid off when Martin Odegaard fed the ball down the left to Nusa, who stepped onto his right foot to finish around Yahia Fofana and into the top corner.
Haaland was soon denied by a last-gasp save, with Sorloth getting his head in the face at the resulting corner.
Emmanuel Agbadou nodded at the other end as half-time approached, while Pepe was denied by Orjan Nyland 10 minutes after the restart, after seeing Guela Doue’s early effort blocked by Torbjorn Heggem.
Amad, who came on for Christ Inao Oulai on the hour mark, cleared Heggem’s effort to clear the line before pulling his team to the other side.
The Manchester United striker played quickly through Pepe and stopped David Moller before Wolfe turned away Sander Berge to fire a shot past Nyland, prompting huge celebrations.
But it was Haaland who would have the final say.
Substitute Oscar Bobb, Haaland’s former City team-mate, flicked the ball into the path of Patrick Berg inside the penalty area, and he lifted the crossbar to slot into an empty net with Fofana missing.
Nyland blocked Amad’s long-range play to keep the chances to a minimum and ensure Norway progressed.
