The end of the Ivorian football player’s career in “Al Rakhi”.
One of Ligue 1’s best players is aggressively moving to sign a high-profile deal after Ivory Coast midfielder Franck Kessier officially left Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ahli, his former club.
The two-time AFC Champions League star is close to settling on his new destination on a free transfer for the 2026-2027 season.
Kessier firmly established his name during his three seasons with Al-Ahly, making over 119 appearances in all competitions, scoring 26 goals and providing 15 assists.
The Ivorian played for a historic hat-trick, which included the 2025 and 2026 AFC Champions League titles, in addition to the Saudi Arabian Super Cup for the 2024-2025 season.
For his part, Saudi Al-Riyadiya newspaper journalist Abdullah Ahmed reported that Kessier received an official offer to join him in order to have the opportunity to continue his career in the Roshen League after the end of the contract with Al-Raqi.
Abdullah Ahmed wrote through his “X” platform account. “Frank Kessier has an official offer from Al-Ittihad… Kessier is officially out of Al-Ahly after the club’s management decided not to renew him… The player has offers from Europe and Saudi Al-Ittihad.”
Kessien moved to Al-Ahly in the summer of 2023 from Barcelona on a three-season contract extension and has become a free agent at the end of his journey with Al Raqi, opening the door between European offers and a serious Saudi bid to snap him up before the start of the new season.
