Russian two-time Olympic figure skating pair champion Artur Dmitriev has died at the age of 58.
Dmitriev was the first figure skater to win Olympic gold with two different partners.
She won the title at the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympics for the unified team with Natalia Mishkutionok.
She then represented Russia and won a second gold with Oksana Kazakova at the 1998 Games in Nagano, Japan.
The Russian Figure Skating Federation confirmed his death in a statement.
“We regret to announce the death of two-time Olympic champion and three-time European champion in pair figure skating Artur Valerievich Dmitriev,” it said.
Dmitriev, who was born in Ukraine but grew up in the Russian Arctic city of Norilsk, later became a figure skating coach in Moscow and St. Petersburg while his son, Artur Dmitriev, is also a coach.
