The Argentine star is awaiting release
Joan Laporta sent a message in which she did not mention the name, but everyone understood what she meant. The Barcelona president is talking about “making dreams come true” and Julian Alvarez is waiting on the other side in Madrid after he told Atletico he wants to leave to fulfill his “dream” of wearing a Blaugrana shirt.
In his appearance at the birthday party, and as he approaches the start of his second consecutive stint as Barcelona president, Laporta sent out messages that contained more than one clue. He said: “It goes without saying that dreams come true with hard work and striving to achieve them.”
According to the Spanish “El Chiringuito” program, he proudly added: “Most footballers want to join Barcelona, and that fills us with pride.
When asked about players who have “unrealized dreams” in particular, he answered with a smile: “We hope to be able to fulfill the dreams of players who want to join Barcelona.”
Laporta’s speech comes days after 26-year-old Argentine striker Julian Alvarez announced his clear desire to move to Barcelona, confirming that he had informed Atletico Madrid of his decision to leave the club to pursue his “dream”.
According to the newspaper “Mundo Deportivo:“Barcelona” do not intend to abandon the idea of including Alvarez, and now the ball is in the court of the Catalan administration to start official contact with “Atletico” and reach an agreement that satisfies all parties.
Laporta’s statements, even if they don’t explicitly mention Alvarez by name, are being read as a green light behind the scenes at the Camp Nou… and the Argentine dream could soon become a reality.
