Neymar mocks the king of expectations after Morocco’s victory. I was wrong again.

The exclusion of the Netherlands disappointed the German world

Brazil star Neymar sparked a flurry of mockery on social media after he sent two scathing messages to German economist and mathematician Joachim Klement, known for his accurate World Cup tournament predictions, after the top contenders for the 2026 World Cup fell through.

Neymar took to his official Instagram account to post a new message after the Netherlands were knocked out of the tournament by Morocco, where he wrote:

It was not the first time the Brazil captain had mocked the German as he had previously sent him a similar message after Brazil’s win over Japan, although Clement expected the Asian side to win. He wrote at that time: “Mr. Joachim Clement… Please try again in the next cup.”

Joachim Clement gained wide fame in recent years after he managed to predict the champions of the last three World Cup matches based on a mathematical model based on 4 main criteria, including population size, climate and football infrastructure, in addition to FIFA classification.

Ahead of the start of the 2026 World Cup, the German has surprised fans by picking the Netherlands to win the World Cup, stressing that the Windmills have an exceptional ability to exceed expectations thanks to their talent development system and the strength of their defensive line despite the absence of a single star in their ranks.

Clement also felt that the Dutch squad included a homogeneous group of players with no real weaknesses, and that it had the qualities to enable it to achieve its historic dream of winning the World Cup for the first time.

However, the course of the tournament contradicted the calculations of the German expert. Brazil overcame Japan’s ban while Morocco managed to knock the Netherlands out of the competition, and Clement’s highest hopes were dashed within days.
